Landscaping and fencing in Hedge End

New-build gardens turned into real ones, and the trades that follow.

Hedge End, West End and Botley have grown fast, and a lot of the work here starts with what developers leave behind: a thin rectangle of turf on compacted subsoil, a boundary of bare panels, and nothing else. Turning that into a garden (decent lawn, patio, beds, screening from the neighbours) is a whole-garden job, and one we take on from the ground up.

Developer turf laid straight onto compacted ground fails in predictable ways: waterlogging in winter, bare patches by August. Done properly it means decompacting and preparing the ground first, which is the difference between a lawn and a green carpet that dies in year two.

The established side of town balances it out with the usual mix: fence replacements between older gardens, tree reductions, hedges, driveways. And with Junction 7 on the doorstep we are there in a quarter of an hour.
