Romsey gardens have range: walled plots tucked behind the town centre, family gardens off the Winchester and Botley roads, and village properties out through the Test Valley with real trees and real boundaries to keep on top of.

The River Test shapes some of that ground — plots near the river and its carriers can sit wet through winter, which changes what a lawn, a fence line or a planting plan needs. Water-logged posts rot early; the fix is getting the base and drainage right, not replacing panels every few years.
