Privacy & cookies

What happens to your details when you get in touch. In plain English, because you should not need a solicitor to read it.

Who we are

This website belongs to Direct Landscaping & Tree Care, a landscaping and tree surgery business based in Southampton, Hampshire. If you have any question about your information, ring 023 8111 2905 or email info@directlandscapingandtreecare.co.uk.

What we collect, and why

If you fill in the enquiry form we ask for your name, aphone number, your email, yourpostcode, which service you are after, and whatever you write in the message box.

We use it for one thing: to get back to you about the job you have asked about, and to work out whether you are inside the area we cover. That is it. We do not sell it, we do not share it with anyone for marketing, and we will not add you to a mailing list.

The lawful basis is legitimate interests — you have asked us to quote for work, so replying to you is the obvious and expected thing to do with your details.

Who else sees it

The website is hosted by Netlify, and enquiries sent through the form are delivered through them before reaching our inbox. Our email runs onGoogle Workspace. Both act only on our instructions.

The website was built and is looked after by SH Studios, who can see enquiries in order to keep the form working.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not turn into work are kept for about 12 months, then deleted — people often come back a season later and it helps to have the history. If you become a customer we keep the job record for 6 years, because that is how long tax and liability records need to be held.

Ask us to delete your details sooner and we will, unless we are legally required to keep them.

Cookies

This website sets no cookies at all. There is no analytics, no tracking, no advertising and nothing following you around. Nothing about you is stored in your browser by us.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • show you what we hold about you
  • correct it if it is wrong
  • delete it
  • stop using it

Ring or email and we will sort it, normally within a month, and it does not cost you anything.

If you are not happy with how we have handled it you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you came to us first so we can put it right.
